ICAG is a growing group of people deeply concerned about our future. We are committed to advocating for urgent climate action from all levels of government, Federal, State and local. We will work to build community awareness for the need for urgent climate action, through education and local activities, and we plan to form partnerships in the community and between community and governments that will ensure a sustainable and liveable environment for future generation.

QUEENSLAND CONSERVATION COUNCIL
The Queensland Conservation Council is the leading independent voice for the environment in Queensland.
It is the peak body for Queensland's environmental movement, representing more than 50 community environment groups across the state. Ipswich Climate Action Group is one of these groups. With the help of these supporters, QCC has been working to protect, conserve and sustain Queensland's environment since 1969.
QCC's vision is for a Queensland in which nature thrives, wildlife is protected, industries don't cost the earth, and communities are in balance with the health of the ecosystem. QCC"s current campaigns include the Stand Up for Nature Campaign.
Why do we need to Stand Up For Nature?
Over 300,000 hectares of forest and woodland are bulldozed every year
Only 8.2% of Queensland is in the protected areas estate
1049 threatened species
We know some of the best ways to ensure our incredible landscapes and wildlife are protected is through strong laws and permanent habitat protection. We need all sides of politics to protect nature by committing ourselves to:
Introducing strong nature laws that end deforestation and invest in the protection of habitat for threatened species, including better planning laws to ensure the renewable energy transition benefits nature
Creating an independent Environmental Protection Agency
ICAG supports these campaigns through petition signing, letters to Members of parliament and letters to the editor of local papers and promoting campaigns on our Facebook page. Save Woogaroo Forest is a local campaign that we are supporting.
THE WILDERNESS SOCIETY
The Wilderness Society is powered by thousands of Australians from all walks of life. We work to support the living world that makes all life possible (including our own).
Together, we believe in protecting, promoting and restoring wilderness and natural processes across Australia for the survival and ongoing evolution of life on Earth.
From the corridors of Canberra to the streets of your town, we're taking on transnational corporations, rogue operators, and the armies of lobbyists and politicians who defend them.
